Child Protection Policy

Child Protection
Policy

At BJB Aesthetic Dentistry, we make every effort to ensure that all our patients feel safe and comfortable – especially our youngest ones.
For this reason, we have implemented a Child Protection Policy, the purpose of which is to ensure that Rodent Sp. z o.o. NZOZ BJB Aesthetic Dentistry, as a healthcare provider, always acts in the best interests of the child, guaranteeing their safety, dignity, and respect.

We are fully committed to protecting children from neglect, abuse, and any form of harm.

Ensuring Comfort and Safety During Treatment

Our doctors are required to allow the presence of a parent or legal guardian during a child’s examination or treatment to help the child feel secure.
They also take into account each child’s individual needs (for example, allowing them to have a toy during the visit), ensure that the child can express their opinion, and — after the age of 16 — provide full medical information directly to the patient.

Our team is trained to demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding in their interactions with young patients and their families.
Any behaviour that could cause fear, distress, coercion, or shouting towards a minor patient is strictly prohibited.
All staff members are also trained on how to respond if signs of abuse are suspected during or outside of a visit.

Responding to Signs of Abuse or Neglect

All employees of our dental practice have a duty to respond to any signs of harm to a minor patient, regardless of who the perpetrator may be – whether a parent, guardian, or another individual.
Such harm may include physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, as well as neglect of the child’s needs.

If there is a suspicion of a crime or an immediate threat to the child’s safety, the staff member must promptly notify the police or public prosecutor.
In cases of domestic violence, our team may initiate the “Blue Card” procedure. If neglect is suspected, the dental practice may contact social services or the family court for appropriate intervention.

Reporting Procedure

All information regarding suspected harm or abuse of a minor patient must be reported to the Child Protection Coordinator, who is also the Vice President of the Board of Rodent Sp. z o.o. NZOZ BJB Aesthetic Dentistry.
The Coordinator is responsible for initiating the appropriate procedures and notifying the relevant public authorities.

Each intervention is officially recorded in the Child Protection Register by the Coordinator.

Staff Obligations

Every person employed by Rodent Sp. z o.o. NZOZ BJB Aesthetic Dentistry — regardless of the form of employment — is required to read and acknowledge this Child Protection Policy in writing, confirming their commitment to comply with its principles at all times.
